Gunnery Sergeant Earl was born on 6 September 1993 in Carmel, New York. He enlisted in the Marine Corps 10 September 2012. He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina. After graduating recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. Following completion of MCT, he attended Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he received the MOS of Motor Transport Operator (3531).
In June of 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Earl was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. Shortly after this, in the same month, he received orders to 2nd Transportation Support Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as a motor transport operator. In September of 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Earl was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In October 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Earl graduated Semitrailer Refueler Operator Course (SROC) and earned a secondary MOS of Semitrailer Refueler Operator (3534). In January of 2015, he participated in Exercise Cold Response-2015, in Norway, in which he trained with forces from across the world in cold weather training. In May of 2015, Gunnery Sergeant Earl graduated as the honor graduate from the Martial Arts Instructor (MAI) course as a green belt instructor in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), earning the additional MOS of (0916). In January of 2016 he went to Norway once again for Exercise Cold Response-2016. In February 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Earl was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In June of 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Earl reported to his next unit, Marine Wing Support Squadron 171 (MWSS-171) in Iwakuni, Japan, where he served as Quality Control Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC), Platoon Sergeant, Company Training NCO, and Squadron Color Sergeant.
In June of 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Earl reported to Drill Instructor School class 4-18, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. Upon graduation, he was assigned to India Company, Third Recruit Training Battalion where he served 10 cycles as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Chief Drill Instructor. During this time he attended the Marine Corps Instructor of Water Survival Course and earned the additional MOS (0918). Toward the end of his tour on Drill Instructor duty, he attended Motor Transport Staff Non-commissioned Officer Operations Course earning the MOS of 3537, Motor Transport Operations Chief.
Upon completion of a successful tour on Drill Instructor Duty, Gunnery Sergeant Earl received orders to Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan. While with HQBN, he deployed as a motor transport Platoon Sergeant with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Battalion Landing Team 2/5. Upon return, he was assigned the billet of Truck Master, where he remained until his departure from the unit in February of 2024.
In March of 2024, Gunnery Sergeant Earl reported to Naval ROTC unit Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY where he currently serves as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor.
Gunnery Sergeant Earl’s personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with one gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with two bronze star in lieu of third award.
