"Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all."

                              -General George Washington

Step into greatness with the Mohawk ROTC Battalion—a powerhouse of leadership excellence drawing students from Siena University, RPI, UAlbany, Union, Skidmore, Russell Sage, ACPHS, and HVCC. As part of the renowned 2nd ROTC Brigade, headquartered at Fort Dix, we commission over 19 exceptional Second Lieutenants each year, consistently placing in the top 10% nationwide at the Army’s Leadership Development and Assessment Course (LDAC).

Our proud legacy began in 1950 at Siena University as one of the nation’s first Field Artillery ROTC programs. Since then, we’ve grown into a dynamic, multi-campus force—surviving Army downsizing, expanding to UAlbany in 1981, and evolving into a central hub of Army leadership in New York’s Capital District. Our Ranger Challenge team continues to shine, with multiple top-three finishes and a championship win in 2003.

From classroom to commission, we develop agile, resilient, and honorable leaders ready to serve the nation
